Over the past year, the Tropical Water Research Alliance (TWRA) and the Australian Rivers Institute at Griffith University (ARI/Griffith) have conducted a project focused on the assessment of bioeconomic threats in the western Bahia region of the São Francisco River Basin. The Australian Embassy in Brazil funded the project as part of the Direct Program Aid (DAP) of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
This online workshop aims to present the main results of the project and discuss with stakeholders the main contributions of the study for the Western Bahia region. The project’s results can contribute to issues related to water security, agricultural productivity, and the provision of ecosystem services, as well as fostering the participation of identified actors in the region’s sustainable development process.
