On May 09, 2022, a Memorandum of Understading (MoU) was signed between the TWRA and the Griffith University. The MoU aims to support activities, training and cooperation in academic, technical and scientific research in the various thematic lines developed by the TWRA. These lines are: 1 – Water balance; 2 – Fragmentation and restoration of rivers; 3 – Influences of land use on aquatic ecosystems; 4 – Water security; 5 – Conservation and biodiversity planning in hydrographic basins; 6 – Social and cultural dimension of water; 7 – Monitoring, evaluation and reporting of hydrographic basins; and 8 – Modeling and prediction for the integrated management of hydrographic basins.
Another important point addressed in the MoU is that activities such as research projects, scientific communication, citizen science, coordination, planning of scientific missions and events, and the development of a database (big data) for river basins will be included.
