The State Government, through Fundacao Araucaria (FA) and the General Superintendence of Science, Technology and Higher Education (Seti), launched this Monday (20) the New Arrangement for Research and Innovation (NAPI) Águas. Initially, R$866,540.00 will be invested. The project developed in the New Water Research and Innovation Arrangement is called “Indicators and indices of vulnerability and exposure to the effects of climate change in strategic sectors in the State of Paraná” and was proposed in partnership with the TWRA – Tropical Water Research Alliance.
The objective of NAPI is to implement and activate the network of researchers in the water theme, also formalize and activate more and more partnerships and start building Paraná’s environmental database. In addition, carry out research and activities involving strategic sectors (emerging, transversal and structural) of society in the search for the rational use of this resource.
The coordinator of NAPI Águas, professor at the Federal University of Paraná Yara Moretto, recalled that water is a national heritage, of inestimable value, without which it is not possible to maintain living beings, hence the responsibility of institutions in the development of researches that ensure, permanently, for its quality and preservation.
