On Wednesday 17, 2021 the Federal Government approved, through Public Notice No. 01/2021 SNSH-MDR of the Águas Brasileiras Program, the project entitled “Sustainable Development and Conservation of Biodiversity of the Tocantins-Araguaia Basin Demonstrative Area”, proposed by the Tropical Water Research Alliance – TWRA. The Project aims to develop environmental technologies and offer methodological support for the development of integrated and sustainable management of tropical watersheds, by training teams and mitigating the effects of environmental degradation and climate change. In addition, a start-up incubation program and training on the topic are part of the initiative. The execution period will be 36 months.
Project location: States of Mato Grosso, Goiás, Tocantins and Pará.
Hydrographic basin: Araguaia – Tocantins.
