On March 13th, 2023, during the I TWRA Extraordinary General Assembly, the members of the association voted to grant further title of Honofic Member within the association. The TWRA in Australia’s ideator and general coordinator, Prof. Dr. Stuart Bunn, was unanimously awarded the title of Honorific Member.
The idea of forming a Tropical Alliance has been discussed since 2013 by Dr. Stuart Bunnand the Austrade and Trade Investment Queensland (TIQ). The Tropical Water Research Alliance (TWRA), a collaboration between Australian and Brazilian researchers looking for solutions for water in tropical locations, was established in 2020 after years of meetings, debates, and partnerships.
