On the afternoon of this Wednesday, 07/29, it was held by videoconference, meeting with representatives of the Conselho Nacional das Fundações Estaduais de Amparo à Pesquisa (CONFAP), and of some FAP’s of the Northeast for the presentation of the Tropical Water Research Alliance ( TWRA – Tropical Water Research Alliance), a partnership between institutions (public and private) and the academic environment in Brazil and Australia that seeks to promote an integrated approach to research and management of tropical watersheds.
In addition to the presentation of TWRA for the FAP’s of the Northeast, it was proposed by CONFAP, in the set of its Foundations, the elaboration of a cooperation term between the Council and TWRA for the scientific exchange and approximation of actions related to the research and management of the basins tropical watersheds.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Fábio Guedes Gomes – President of CONFAP, and the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de Alagoas (FAPEAL); Prof. Roberto Germano – President of the Fundação de Apoio à Pesquisa do Estado da Paraíba (FAPESQ); Flávia Cerqueira – International Cooperation Advisor at CONFAP; Prof. João Vicente Costa Lima – Scientific Director of Fapeal; Prof. Flávio Mauricio Sá dos Santos – Innovation Director of the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa e ao Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico do Maranhão (FAPEMA); Profª. Suzana Gico Montenegro – President of the Agência Pernambucana de Águas e Clima (APAC), representing Fernando Jucá – President of the Fundação de Amparo a Ciência e Tecnologia de Pernambuco (FACEPE); and José Gonçalves Júnior – General Coordinator of TWRA in Brazil.
